Melissa Hearns is a NYC & LA-based graphic designer and multidisciplinary visual artist.
Following my desire to create, I dropped out of grad school for classical archaeology & art history and have since accumulated 10+ years of experience working as a designer in-house at global fashion brands.
Alongside my professional career, I also operate a freelance design studio, partnering with clients across industries to build visual identities, brand strategy, and design systems.
I specialize in crafting visually cohesive brand systems that are not only research-driven, concept-first, & beautifully cohesive, but also purposeful and relevant. My aim is to distill each client’s essence into a visual language that speaks clearly and authentically to their audience.
I value deep research and cultural insight to inform thoughtful, emotionally resonant design—blending competitive strategy with elevated visual storytelling—whether developing brand identities, logos, packaging, websites, or marketing collateral.
